Did you know that according to the Zillow Group’s Consumer Housing Trends Report 2017, 50 percent of new construction home buyers are looking for energy efficiency? The survey asked more than 13,000 households what they wanted most in their new homes, and energy efficiency ranked number 10 behind basic features such as number of bedrooms and the right price range.
For these reasons, we are pleased to offer Thermocore Structural Insulated Panels to not only provide energy efficiency with the best R-values and zero thermal gaps, they also make home building quicker and easier. Thermocore started in 1993 with one goal: To make a better structural insulated panel system (SIP). It is that same goal that continues to drive Thermocore to be the innovative leader in the SIP industry. No other panel company can claim the product innovations that Thermocore has introduced. Be it CNC cut panels to full electrical boxes and conduit installed in every panel, Thermocore leads the industry to manufacture the most energy efficient and user friendly panel system on the market today. Whether you are building a new home or adding an addition, Thermocore is the fast-modern way to frame and insulate your home. In fact “Framesulate”, framing and insulating in one step, is the fastest method to dry in your home. Being able to dry in quickly is the key to an on time and on budget build.
ThermoCore custom-manufactures each panel to house plans or architect’s drawings by injecting high-quality polyurethane between two sheets of oriented strand board. The polyurethane acts as its own adhesive, providing a strong, consistent bond across the entire panel. We design the panels to include features like preinstalled corners, door bucks, window bucks, subfacia and electrical conduit boxes to ensure the quality of construction while drastically reducing the time involved.
• Wall: 4″ (when combined with 1/2″ drywall, accepts standard window jambs), 4-1/2″, 6-7/16″ (+/- 1/16″)
• Roof: 6-7/16″, 8-1/4″ (+/- 1/16″)
Inner/Outer Skin 7/16″ oriented strand board (a structural, exterior-rated composite board). Insulation Core We use a Class I fire rated closed-cell polyurethane foam that contains no formaldehyde or CFCs. Polyurethane foam is a thermoset plastic which does not melt and maintains structural integrity until consumed. It is far more fire-resistant than most conventional building materials. Polyurethane foam does not promote the growth of mold and serves as its own vapor barrier. It’s a common, proven building product that is found in most homes and on store shelves. Minimum R-Value Wall: R-24, R-28, R-40 Roof: R-40, R-50 Warranty Thermocore panels carry a limited lifetime warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.
SIPS are the Cornerstone of Green Home Building and Thermocore has proven to be the smart green option for commercial or home building projects across the United States. Thermocore helps businesses and homeowners reduce their environmental fingerprint by helping them reduce energy consumption. We also help reduce the needless waste that occurs at some building sites. Green building is not only a mindset at Thermocore but it is built into every process they have and we are constantly looking for ways to help ensure a greener environment for future generations.
